Introduction
It's important that all aspects of our client modules look professional and are
visually appealing, which includes video thumbnails. A video thumbnail is the image previewed on a video before it starts. This guide gives a couple of options for improving the default video thumbnail.
Use JW Player
1) Login to JW Player and navigate to the client's video.
2) Below the video click Edit Thumbnail.
3) The Edit Thumbnail page appears.
4) If the default video thumbnail isn't visually appealing, start by looking for other frames in the video to serve as a video thumbnail by clicking Select From Video.
5) Drag the slider to the right to find a frame that is worthy of being a video thumbnail and click the mouse. The small red triangle above the slider moves to that location.
6) Click Save Selected Thumbnail.
NOTE: It can take up to 24 hours for JW Player to show the change in thumbnail.

7) If the Select From Video option doesn’t provide a
good image to use, contact the client to see if they have a preferred image.
This could be a picture of a building, their logo or mascot, etc.
8) After you acquire the image from the client, go to the Edit Thumbnail page and click Replace Image.
9) Navigate your local machine to find the file and click Open. It may take up to 10 minutes for the thumbnail to appear.
10) If the client provided an image and it looks good, email them and let them know
the thumbnail has been updated and looks great.
