[Internal] Video: Upload a Closed Caption File and Preview it

Introduction
Clients will occasionally send a closed caption to be applied to a video. This guide includes the step-by-step procedure for doing that using the JW Player.

Add Closed Caption to Video

1) Download the closed caption file and rename it to match the name of the video file. Note: the end user will see the new file name.
2) Open the video in JW Player. If it's not already there, see Video: Upload to JW Player.
3) On the menu under the video, click Assets.

4) Scroll down to the Tracks section.
5) In the dropdown menu, make sure it says Upload Captions Track(s) then click Add.

6) Locate the closed caption file and click Open. Acceptable file formats include .vtt and .srt.
7) After a short time, the closed caption file will appear in the Tracks section.

Preview Closed Caption Video in Management Console

8) If the video is not already in the Management Console, transfer the video from JW Player to Management Console. If unsure how to do that, see the guide Video: Transfer from JW Player to Management Console.
9) In Management Console, navigate to the client's Current Videos section and select the video from the dropdown menu.

10) Click View and when the video player appears, click the play button.

11) In the video player, click the closed caption (cc) control.

12) In the closed caption popup menu, click the closed caption title.

13) Verify that the video has closed captioning and the captions align with the audio. If not, contact the client to confirm we have the correct closed caption file for this video and/or it was uploaded to the correct video.
